Distance

"Every once in a while, people need to be in the presence of things that are really far away."

Candid Street Photography

Capturing the insignificant events that, in that moment, create a curious image.

Framing and timing are key elements in composing a shot.

By becoming so involved in our thoughts, or more so our personal digital devices, we forget to view the world in front, behind and all around us.

Amazing Iphone Cameras!

Over the years I have seen the quality of Iphone photography change dramatically.

The artistic possibilities, sharpness, color splash, and most of all convenience, make this form of image capturing more popular than ever.

The Iphone is currently the most commonly used camera in the world!

Millions of images are snapped everyday!!

It's appeal has increased with the unlimited photo editing applications available with the press of a button.
Enhancing your photograph is instantaneous.

There is a saying that "the best camera is the one that is with you".
DSLR or digital single lens reflex cameras and multiple interchangeable lenses have their place in the world of photography - that is a fact.
But, without all that digital equipment at your fingertips, the moment of capturing an image is lost.

The Iphone seems to be always at hand, ready to record.
Spending less time with bulky equipment, aperture settings, and speed controls - and more time expressing your creativity and 'getting the shot', has it's appeal.
An  image that makes you look twice is created by the eye of the photographer, not the equipment it comes from.
Capture the moment, record the beauty, dip into your creative self!
(All images recorded with Iphone and editted with apps)

Horse Teachers

As herd animals, horses form relationships.
These relationships are with the other horses in their herd, or the humans in their lives that make up a part of their herd.

We as humans like to identify this relationship on many levels.
Instinct can make us a predator, but evolution has made us a friend.

They  tolerate our need to have them as a part of our lives.
We can even believe that they need us to be a part of theirs too!

By looking in their eyes, they can show us a reflection of ourselves.

And whom do we want that person to be?

Photo of Week March 3rd.

This weekend it is time to Spring forward!

I like the idea that we are  closer to Springtime - warmer temperatures, green hues surrounding our environment, lighter clothes, brighter colors all around, 'al fresco' dining, and more sun in my world!!!

However, I never seem to get over losing that glorious hour of sleep in order to get closer to all these wonderful things that make up Spring to me.

I'm sure I'll get over it very soon, especially upon seeing that first flower burst open announcing the end of frozen stillness and the celebration of new life.

Oh beautiful Spring we anxiously await your arrival!
